Write about why you chose to study Japanese in English:

Because I am a quarter Japanese on my mother's side, I have family that lives in Tokyo. I wanted to study Japanese formally so that I can speak and better understand my grandparents. I also want to be able to better navigate my way around Japan without stumbling with my words. I felt that if I learned the language formally, I will have a greater understanding of Japanese culture as a whole. I am excited to learn more vocabulary and expand my knowledge of the language - obtaining more and more tools for me to better understand cultural aspects as well. I found the quizzes everyday to be challenging, yet I think they are beneficial and crucial for our learning.

  9. Oh yeah, you'll have plenty of Japanese education after this. It's difficult at first to adapt to the pace of learning, but I'm sure you're used to it by now. Let me know if you have any questions! Like Kobayashi, I'm a TA here as well.
